Which of your coatings are approved for potable water?
For structures holding drinking water, the reference is the range Sika lists on its potable water solutions page: waterproofing mortars such as SikaTop-107 Seal, the multi-layer epoxy resins Sikagard-62 and SikaCor-146 DW, hot-spray polyurea membranes and TPO sheet membranes. The coatings on this page are selected for chemical and abrasion resistance rather than potable duty — Sikagard PW lines storage tanks, manholes, intakes and silos, and Sikagard-320 EPS is specified for non-potable water structures. Neither belongs to Sika's listed potable range, so tell us if the structure holds drinking water and we will quote from the potable systems instead. Sikagard PW SG is the related grade. The applicable approval is stated on the data sheet — tell us the structure is for drinking water when you enquire and we will supply only a product carrying it.
What protects concrete and steel in a sewage or industrial plant?
Sikagard PW is sewage resistant and is also used as an anti-corrosion coating on steel in food processing, agricultural, chemical and pharmaceutical facilities. Sikagard 320 EPS is a two-part epoxy coating for protecting concrete against chemical attack and abrasion. Send us the exposure — what liquid, what concentration, what temperature — and we will confirm which is appropriate.
Do you supply anti-carbonation coatings for facades?
Not in our current stocked range. The three protective coatings we hold are chemical-resistant epoxy linings for tanks, silos and industrial structures, not decorative or anti-carbonation facade systems. Sika does produce facade and anti-carbonation coatings, so if your specification calls for one, contact us with the specified product name and we will tell you honestly whether we can source it.
